Best practices for osteoporosis screening and care

Join the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA), National Osteoporosis Foundation (NOF), and industry experts for an OnDemand web presentation of best practices for osteoporosis screening and care for older women and for women who have had a fracture. This complimentary educational program for health care and health plan providers focuses on the importance of screenings and on osteoporosis among older women and women who have had a fracture. Protect the spine through exercise

NOF and Karen Kemmis, PT, DPT collaborated on the article “Protect the spine through exercise” published in the September/October issue of Functional U: Exercise and Activity for Healthy Aging a publication produced by the International Council of Active Aging. This article provides comprehensive information about exercise and safe movement including specific exercises individuals can do to improve strength, balance, posture and function as well as exercises that should be avoided or modified to reduce the risk of spine fractures.
